Let Orange County Wedding Officiants Help Write Your Vows

There are a number of overtly important details with regards to every wedding though they vary in importance from wedding to wedding. These details might include the location, church, reception entertainment, and even choice of wardrobe for the wedding party. Perhaps the most important aspect of every wedding is the wedding vows. The vows spoken by bride and groom are not only a declaration of their commitment to one another but are also a testament to the love they have for one another and love they want to share with those who attend the ceremony.

The vast majority of couples choose to recite and repeat the time honored and standard vows though there are many couples that choose to break with tradition and write and recite their own vows. Those who choose to do so will tell you that by reciting vows they create themselves, they are free to express their true feelings making for more meaningful and heartfelt vows. Many brides and grooms however often find it difficult to find the right words to use when they sit down to write their own vows. Some just simply aren't wordsmiths while others find it difficult to translate their emotions into words.

The Clergy Network Can Help You Write Meaningful Vows That You Will Remember FOREVER!

Fortunately for those who might be having a hard time writing their own vows there are a great number of Orange County wedding officiants who offer services to help brides and grooms write their own vows. Most of these services require only that a bride and groom meet with an officiant to convey their feelings and cite specific key points so that the officiant can draft vows that reflect the love shared between two individuals. Couples who lead extremely busy lives often take advantage of these types of services too so that they can focus on not only their daily duties but putting their wedding together too.

In addition to assisting in the writing of vows there are some Orange County wedding officiants that also offer marriage vows books & wedding readings software that help willing brides and grooms write their own vows. This software works with almost any PC and Mac and is exceptionally user friendly. Moreover such programs generally include options that help brides and grooms write not only their vows but announcements for engagements, bridal showers, and even the wedding rehearsal dinner. Orange County wedding officiants offering these types of programs do so to save a bride and groom time and the hassle of trying to come up with powerful verbiage that properly conveys their emotions.

Brides and grooms looking to write their own vows might want to begin the process by looking into these types of services and programs before they ever sit down to write their vows. Even those who are excellent writers can benefit from an outside opinion on how best to express themselves in the written word. Making sure their vows are perfect and express just how deeply they care for their soon to be spouse is of the utmost importance to brides and grooms and is an opportunity they don't want to miss out on.

The Clergy Network is Orange County's # 1 Wedding Officiant devoted to helping you have a beautiful wedding ceremony. Find out more about Officiant Selection, Why To Use The Clergy Network, Ceremony Writing, Vow Writing and more.

Wedding Ceremony Customs - Including The Father of The Bride and The Father of The Groom In The Wedding Ceremony

June 21st 2009 – Happy Father’s Day – Including Dad In the Wedding Ceremony – The Clergy Network of Southern California - Example - Multicultural Wedding in Los Angeles, California

Wedding Tradition should include the father of the bride and the father of the groom. If the relationship between the bride and her father, and that of the groom and his father are favourable, there a many ways in which to provide a more active role to the same. As a wedding ceremony officiator I have often included the fathers in the wedding ceremony, either during the writing of the ceremony, or in the ceremony itself. Let’s look at one recent Clergy Network ceremony which included Dr. Linda of AskDr.Linda, a TCN wedding officiator presided:

Pre- Wedding Ceremony Scenario- The bride was from the Philippines and the groom was Russian. In this custom written Clergy Network wedding ceremony text, Dr. Linda, in conjunction with the bride and groom, wrote a “Welcome to the Guests” in English, which was then translated into Tagala and Russian.
Wedding Day - On the ceremony day, Dr. Linda, the father of the groom and the father of the bride walked down the ceremony aisle together. Rising to the ceremony area in unison, Dr. Linda “welcomed” the guests in English. Then the groom’s father in Russian, followed by the father of the bride in Tagalla. At the end all shook hands; Dr. Linda remained in her ceremony position. The father of the groom was seated. The father of the bride walked back to join his daughter for her entrance, to be soon after the wedding party’s procession.

Conclusion – Such a simple suggestion is rather profound, as it is not often included in the wedding ceremony. Whether there are several native languages represented through the respective families of the bride and groom, or not, there is no mandatory wedding day tradition for which the father of the groom and/or the father of the bride are to be precluded from verbal participation. If the father of the bride and/or groom is not given to public speech, even these “welcomes” can be pre-recorded and then played by a D.J. at the start of the wedding ceremony.

In short, the fathers’ may write the “welcome” which may be read by the wedding officiator or another, or write and read a “welcome to the guests”. This unexpected personal greeting from the fathers’, at the “start” of the marriage ceremony, sets the right tone of involvement for the guests themselves. In short, someone they know is saying “go ahead, feel invited. Laugh, cry, applaud, and by all means enjoy!” It makes all the difference in this wedding officiant’s vast experience.

Private Home - Wedding Ceremony At Home - Comfortable Meets Chaos

Private Home Wedding Ceremony - A Wedding Officiators Prospective- The Clergy Network of Southern California - A home wedding ceremony can be lovely, sentimental, comfortable, to name a few positive attributes which invoke a sense of wedding day well being. Yet, as an experienced wedding officiator, I can say the “other side of the coin” must also be calculated into the overall decision to marry at a private home – Be it a parent’s, the bride’s and groom’s, sister’s, aunt’s, grandparents’, etc.

So, for the sake of argument, let’s take the “comfortable” attribute of a home wedding ceremony environment. By “flipping the coin”, “comfortable” can become “disorganized, chaotic, and dysfunctional” in short order. Why? By way of introduction let’s start with the following:

Potential Problem: In a “familiar” or “comfortable” environment, the importance of following a time schedule is often overlooked or dismissed or canceled out, as it seems to run counter to “familiar” or “comfortable”. Even the most innocent dismissal of time can be attributed to the nature of the “home”, a place where time can stand still, a haven of rest from the fast paced world outside.
Breaking The Myth:

When it comes to the notion of a "timeline" putting a damper on things, the reverse is really true, for the few hours which comprise the wedding ceremony and reception go quickly. Without the mapping of and adherence to a timeline, the most important events of the day may be sacrificed at the “altar of comfortability”. In short, this is when “comfortable” and “casual” become the twin nemeses of the “sacredness” or “seriousness” of the marriage ceremony day. Things get overlooked or cut out or forgotten, as they threaten the “feeling” of “comfortable”.

Example One - Family and friends, having been at the home before as casual visitors, find the transition to wedding guest hard to make. Something essential to the “specialness” of the day can be lost for the sake of preserving “comfortable”. Giving a set arrival time, ceremony start time, cocktail hour, reception starting time, can help family and friends to “put on” the “ wedding guest cap” in a way they might not without a timeline which delineates the valuable components of the day. Letting the day take on an unstructured “mind of its own”, can turn “comfortable” into “disorganized, chaotic and dysfunctional”. We will discuss other examples at a later blog.

Part 2- Mother Of Bride & Deceased Father Of Bride Gives Daughter Away! Dana Point, California

More To This California True Life Wedding Ceremony Story- After the TCN wedding officiant's questions of "Who presents", the Mother of The Bride lifted her arms toward the Dana Point harbour, and said, "I and her father do". Not only was the father of the bride's ashes scattered in the harbour some 9 years ago, but his ashes were also present in a religious symbol.

Part 2 Of The Story- A small cross tied with ribbon on mother of the bride's corsage, as a part of her wrist, also pointed to Dana Point harbour. Inside this cross was the bride's late father's ashes. The bride and her mother, Roman Catholic in faith, had long since cherished this religious piece as a daily reminder of their loved one. This wedding ceremony moment made even more meaningful to the bride and her mother through this gesture.

Conclusion- Including the happy remembrance of a loved one during a wedding ceremony can be done - Subtly or in more unusual way. Perhaps the above does not suit your requirements, but The Clergy Network Wedding Officiants of Southern California can help you to write the wedding ceremony which does.

Mother Of Bride & Deceased Father Of Bride Gives Daughter Away! Dana Point, California

Including Those No Longer With Us In A Wedding Ceremony- Orange County, California -The Clergy Network of Southern California Real Time Officiator Reporter

What Happened? "Who gives this woman to be married to this man". Mother of the Bride answers - I do and Her father !- (mother points to Dana Point harbour backdrop).

A True TCN Wedding Ceremony Story - Our TCN bride wanted a happy remembrance of her father, no longer living. So, she picked an amphitheatre in Dana Point - one that overlooked the ocean. You see, her father's ashes were scattered at the nearby ocean about nine years ago. When our TCN wedding officiator asked, "Who presents this woman in marriage", and her mother pointed out to the ocean at Dana Point, this was the reason. For there, at Dana Point, was the memory of a loving father. On this wedding day, there was a happy reunion of a daughter to a father, still very much alive in her heart and thoughts.

Interfaith Wedding Ceremony Includes Hebrew- Southern California Wedding Officiants

A TCN Real Time Wedding Officiator Report - How To Add Hebrew To An Interfaith Ceremony - An Interfaith wedding ceremony between a groom of the Jewish faith and a Christian bride has its challenges. At The Clergy Network of Southern California, we are no strangers to the challenging wedding ceremony. Today, our TCN officiator presided a wedding ceremony which included Hebrew just for the groom and his family. The carefully written wedding ceremony emphasized the similarities and certain cultural customs between the two faiths. After the marriage ceremony there were many compliments on the Hebrew! Good job TCN wedding officiator!

Conclusion- Multi-lingual and Bilingual wedding ceremonies have been a part of The Clergy Network tradition for nearly 20 years. Hebrew, French, Russian, German, Chinese, Vietnamese, Tagala, are just few of the languages employed in The Clergy Network wedding ceremony.

Bride Forgets Bridal Bouquet - Wedding Ceremony Starts Without Her!

The Clergy Network of Southern California- Wedding Officiators - Real Time Wedding Officiator Report - When beginning a wedding ceremony important things should be in place - the guests seated, the parents ready to take their entrance, and a TCN wedding officiator at the microphone beginning the "Welcome to the Guests". The wedding ceremony checklist is lengthy one at best. Today, our TCN officiator was given the signal by the wedding coordinator to start the "Welcome". With "Welcome" given the officiator waited, and waited, and waited.... something was wrong! No groom, nor parents, no bride! Suddenly from behind a bush next to the officiator comes a wee small voice - "The bride forgot her bouquet, we'll have to wait". Smiling away, and with great finesse, our Southern California wedding officiator gracefully bowed out, only to enter again about 5-10 minutes later. At TCN it's all in a days work!

Conclusion- The Clergy Network has so many stories to tell about wedding ceremonies, as anything can and did happen. We are Southern California wedding officiators, experts in so many ways. Stay tuned for more Clergy Network of Southern California "Real-time" wedding officiator reports.

Flower Girl Takes The Microphone - A Four Year Old With A Future In Wedding Officiation

Southern California - The Flower Girl & The Wedding Officiator -A True Clergy Network Story - Real- Time Wedding Ceremony Reporting by TCN.
"Isn't She Lovely, the song by Stevie Wonder comes to mind - This four year old, the epitome of cute! Lovely black hair pinned up in a twist and accented with flowers, complete with the pink little chiffon flower girl dress, flower petals and basket. It was the big moment.... the TCN Wedding Officiant walks down the aisle, then the groomsman arm and arm with two bridesmaids, then the flower girl entrance. Down the aisle she goes, confident, smiling, throwing flowers, then straight up the stairs to stand next to the officiator behind the microphone. Suddenly looking up and grabbing for the microphone, she softly says, "I want to say something". The room exploded in laughter! It is quite possible that the TCN wedding clergy was almost put out of job by this future generation Wedding Officiator, she was just that sweet!

Vietnamese Wedding Ceremony - The Clergy Network Wedding Officiators

Asian Western Wedding Ceremony - Vietnamese Marriage Ceremony Writing- When East Meets West - Southern California Wedding Officiants- The Clergy Network -

Wedding Ceremony Writing Network News & Tips - TCN has written thousands of marriage ceremonies. As such, it is not unusual for our ceremonies to be a reflection of both bride and groom. The histories, cultures, beliefs, personalities, etc, join through the two marrying persons. Currently, writing a Vietnamese and Western Ceremony, we are including a ceremony theme of Romantic & Contemporary with a few elements of the Vietnamese tradition. For example, the Procession of Gifts - To be readapted to please both the younger Vietnamese wedding guests (Westernized), and the older Vietnamese family members. Also, included will be a special "Welcome" by the TCN Wedding Officiator, to include her connection to the family by virtue of previously presiding the sister of this groom's wedding, some years ago. The TCN wedding officiator will express her delight at the honour of being such an important part of the family tradition. Also, a Westernized version of the "Tea Ceremony" will be conducted as a prelude to the reception.

Malibu West Beach Club - Xfiles,Nickelodeon & Unity Candles- Southern California Wedding Officiators

Malibu West Beach Club - Los Angeles County - Southern California Wedding Officiators-

Movie Set Wedding - What happens when a TCN wedding officiator presides over a marriage ceremony for a groom that worked on XFILES and a bride who worked for NICKLEODEAN? .... Unity Wedding Candles that don't blow out, even in 20-30 mile an hour Malibu Beach winds! This is the benefit of having the XFILES crew wedding guests to fix Unity Candles so as to not blow out!

This is the recollection of A TCN wedding officiator, some years ago now. On Sunday, TCN presided at Malibu West Beach Club. The custom ceremony included a reading by the groom's brother, and other custom wording. There was also a reunion between The TCN wedding officiator and a previous client.

Wedding Ceremony Coordination At Malibu West Beach Club - Our TCN Wedding Officiator wrote and organized the wedding ceremony prior to the wedding day. On the day, the officiant did a sound check, worked with the keyboardist cousins of the groom to coordinate the Processional and Recessional, assisted the on-sight event coordinators, lined up the wedding party, executed the sending in of the bridal attendants, groom, groomsmen and bride.... plus so much more.

Happy Ending - The wedding ceremony was lovely, with many compliments from the wedding guests. The Bride's and Groom's wedding ceremony vows were specially written, and kept a surprise. (The bride did not know what the groom was to read, and the groom did not know what the bride was to read). Congratulations to our happy couple. Thank you, Malibu West Beach Club for your hospitality!

Adding A Wedding Custom To Your Wedding Ceremony - Wedding Officiators In Southern California

The Clergy Network Wedding Officiators Network - Adding a "custom" to the wedding ceremony - a more physical symbolism - should be done with a calculated purpose. To add a symbolic gesture, such as "Unity Candle" or "Wine Ceremony" or " Sand Ceremony" , "Jumping The Broom" or other, "just because", usually looks "thrown in" or like an "after thought". In short, don't include words or symbolic gestures, for the sake of it. Even if family tradition requires certain things, there are ways to adapt a traditional wedding ceremony custom for a about-to-be- married couples idea of marriage.
Wedding Customs - How About Adapting A Time Tested Traditional Symbolic Wedding Custom - At The Clergy Network, we customize, in fact, write, each wedding ceremony with each of our marrying couples. In short, be creative or get creative help. If currently a bride and groom, the concocting, revising and importing of a symbolic custom into your wedding ceremony text should be fun and meaningful to you personally. If not wanting to "reinvent the wheel", then adapt a familiar custom, so, a slight twist on the "Unity Candle", "Wine" or "Sand Ceremony", or "Jumping The Broom". For example, One of my marrying couple's took a TCN suggestion to adapt the "Jumping The Broom" ceremony by replacing the broom with a hockey stick - the bride and groom were both semi-professional ice hockey players. If the "jumping the broom" is something you want, but you don't play hockey, perhaps golf... What about "jumping a golf club"? Conclusion - So, if not wanting to invent a symbolic ceremony custom of your own, adapting a time tested one toward a mutual hobby might do just fine.

I Didn't Get A Copy Of My Marriage License- The Clergy Network of Southern California Tip-

California Marriage License- If recently married in Southern California, but did not receive notice that your marriage license has been filed, don't expect such a notice. It is not the policy of the State of California to notify as to the "recording" of a marriage license. It is the sole responsibility of the bride and groom to verify the "recording" of their marriage through the proper marriage license recording division.

The Clergy Network & The Filing Of The Marriage License - There is a way to request "Certified Copies" Of The Marriage License in advance! - This is a couple's "proof" of marriage - TCN can suggest the "quickest way" to obtain copies of a "filed and recorded" marriage license document. Bride Name Change Delay- By The Clergy Network - Southern California Wedding Officiants

Marriage Last Name Change Delays- Did you know that the Wedding Clergy, Wedding Officiator, Marriage Minister, Wedding Judge or Justice-Of-The-Peace can delay bride name change notification or change of maritals status notification?
How Does This Happen & What Does This Mean To Me?
How? By not "filing" the marriage license promptly after the solemnization (presiding) of the marriage ceremony. Although each American state's requirements, as to the "deadline" time frame in which to "file" the marriage license varies, it is not so much a question of "are we married, (if marriage license is not filed quickly), but, if the marriage license recording bureau has recorded the fact of your marriage. You see, once recorded, proof of marriage is available to the newly married couple - proof which is needed by those important entities waiting to learn of a new marital status. The Clergy Network recommends The Name Change Kit For Brides With Software to assist in your marriage last name change notification.

Wedding Ceremony Location Tip- The Clergy Network Wedding Officiants Of Southern California

Picking A Southern California Wedding Ceremony Location? Ask A Clergy Network Wedding Officiator - Tip - When Selecting A Wedding Location, ie., Resturaunt, Country Club, Hotel Ballroom,Etc., Get The Total Truth, In Writing, About The Layout Of The Wedding Ceremony Area! Why?

A May 2009 TCN Wedding Location Tip - A TCN wedding officiator, talking with that weekend's bride-to-be, went through a final checklist of the wedding ceremony area. Told by the bride, certain plans were re-organized and that the wedding guests would be seated from the right side of the ceremony area...... The TCN wedding minister informed the bride of the reason for which this would not happen without difficulties. The Wedding Officiant knew the location and their ceremony set up!

What Did The Wedding Officiator Know? That a large portable bar would block the right side of the ceremony area, per that location's usual ceremony layout. The bride had not been advised of this simple fact by the venue. At this particular location, the coordinating staff is notoriously "hands off", but set in their way of "doing things".

What Happened To The TCN Bride & Groom? In the case of our bride, it turns out, that on the wedding day, the guests could not be readily seated from the right side of the ceremony area - The portable bar did indeed block the way! The bride's center aisle was not saved just for her entrance, but used some for seating the guests. And after the ceremony, there was the usual backup of guests, as the bar was opened, making it difficult for the after wedding ceremony pictures to take place with ease. Guests were simply in the way. Wedding Photographers just don't like this kind of "after-the-ceremony" sceanario, as it is their job to get the best pictures, and without interruption. Especially, if the sun is setting or food is ready to be served.

Moral Of The Story - Wedding locations sales and catering staff often have a "set way" of doing things. Find out in advance what this means to your wedding ceremony. What if the TCN bride had known this before booking? Perhaps, she may have looked elsewhere?
A wedding ceremony area is best reserved solely for the ceremony itself or at the very least carefully orchestrated at change over from ceremony to reception. Our marrying couple should have been advised of the wedding ceremony set up at booking. Wedding ceremony organization depends upon such prior knowledge. The TCN planning session with the bride discussed center and left side seating of the guests at her selected wedding location. It was the TCN wedding officiator that advised the bride of the locations set up, not the location itself. Ask your TCN Wedding Officiator about your ceremony location?
