Chinese Wedding Customs - Los Angeles & Orange County Wedding Officiants

January 30 2011 -Orange County Wedding - Los Angeles County & Orange County Wedding Officiants -  "Have you presided a modern western ceremony with Chinese or other Asian customs added"?
Answer

Yes, many over the last 21 years! In fact, we will be happy to write about the few Chinese customs added to a custom wedding ceremony by our TCN wedding officiants. Here is the first important fact.
  1. The date of a Chinese wedding is chosen carefully, usually consulting an almanac or Chinese symbols or a parent or grandparent. Also, Chinese couples are typically married on the half-hour, as the hand of the clock is moving upward (signifying that they are on the up-ward move).
So, the date and time have a purpose, as does the year. Our Chinese brides and grooms combine this custom and others with a more western theme. However, we have presided more traditional Chinese marriage ceremonies, including the use of Mandarin or Cantonese throughout the ceremony.

Southern California Wedding Officiants - World Wide Wedding Customs In Your Wedding Ceremony?

January 22, 2011 - Too Many Wedding Customs Or Just The Right Amount? Wedding Customs incorporated in your marriage ceremony may or may not strike you as meaningful. But, for these Clergy Network clients, it was everything. It was a way to include important family members in the ceremony experience, with each and every custom holding meaning to our bride and groom.

What Did This Orange County California Bride and Groom Put In There Wedding Ceremony?

After researching World-Wide wedding customs, our wedding officiator and custom wedding ceremony writer, along with the bride and groom, selected 14 customs. Not-to-worry, the ceremony was not long, in fact, from Processional to Recessional,  under 1/2 hour! Those who would participate, were carefully selected. From an Indian Corn Ceremony to a Wine Ceremony, to the Giving of Coins, many cultures were represented. Each Clergy Network ceremony is custom written, no other Los Angeles Wedding Officiants or Orange County Wedding Officiants have the education and experience or interest to tackle such a tall writing and coordinating effort than www.theclergynetwork.com

Los Angeles Wedding Officiants - The 2011 Wedding Ceremony - Fake Wedding Officiator Watch

How Not To Pick A Fake
Wedding Officiator In Los Angeles
January 21, 2011 - The "Dark Side" of The Wedding Internet - Since the advent of the Internet, wedding professionals, as well as brides and grooms have benefited from the easy and quick access to important wedding planning information...... Yet, there is a "Dark Side" - if its phony or illegitimate, its represented in Los Angeles cyberspace!

Avoiding the "Dark Side" of Wedding Officiator Internet Selection - How Do I Find A Legitimate Los Angeles Wedding Officiator ? - The Challenges of Picking A Competent Wedding Officiator In Los Angeles, California

Some Tell Tale Signs of "fake" Wedding Officiators

Due to economy and other reasons, anyone, and I mean "anyone" can become a Wedding Officiator via the Internet. In our " How To Pick A Wedding Officiant" series we will continue to explore the solution around the pitfalls. To keep this short, the titles, "Doctor or Reverend or Pastor or Wedding Officiant" are being purchased. From their cheesy web sites, to À la carte Officiation Menus, to "Lets Make A Deal" pricing, even to their bizarre clergy names and titles, "fake" Wedding Officiators are a dangerous phenomena. In short, there are Wedding Officiator referral groups  in Los Angeles almost literally picking people off the streets and making them instant Wedding Clergy or Wedding Officiants.

What Do Wedding Professionals Say About "Fake" Wedding Officiators in Los Angeles?

On the inside of the Wedding Industry, from D.J.s to Event Planners, these "fakes"  are given new classifications, after all the credible vendors can't believe what is showing up to preside their clients' ceremonies - From the "Brief Case Wedding Minister" to the "Marrying Fellows or Guys", to the "Disgusting Comic Wedding Guys", to the "From Another Planet Wedding Lady", and so forth. But, the bride and groom don't know what those in the Wedding Industry experience weekly. Brides and Grooms trustingly walk into the "fake" Wedding Officiant arena thinking "all Wedding Officiators are the same!". This false understanding can only lead to "consumer regret" and a lifetime of bad wedding ceremony recollections. More to come on this subject.

Selecting A Southern California Wedding Officiant - Tip 1 - Real Life Stories of Couples Picking A "Fake" or "Internet Ordained" Wedding Officiator!

January 20th 2011 - Continuation “Value” Starting Tip One – Selecting a Wedding Officiator or Marriage Minister For Your Southern California Wedding Ceremony – By Dr. Linda Wainwright Trott – The Clergy Network – A Wedding Officiator Referral Membership Network

What Can Happen If The Wedding Officiator Is Not ValuedThree Examples Of A Couple’s Imagined Wedding Day Nightmares Come True In Real Life ! In our previous Blog entry, we talked briefly on the “Importance of Valuing The Role of The Wedding Officiator”. Here are only a few “real-life” scenarios of what does happen when the Officiator is haphazardly selected without informed decision.

                                                                Scenario One
Waiting For Something Better To Come Along

The Wedding Officiator did not show up on the wedding day – Why? - The bride and groom picked him/her based on price! What they did not know is that the Officiator bought their license to preside marriage ceremonies from on-line - Their titles were fake, the authority to marry real, but this was his/her “pocket change” profession. Not taking their own role as “Wedding Officiator” seriously, they get a more financially lucrative job position and simply drop the presiding of weddings. “How could they do this? …… Simply because officiating is not their chosen career! Consequently, they did not invest time, money, energy and years to training in the profession! It was in their “self interest” to take the more lucrative job offer, and that was not found in presiding weddings!

                                     Consequently…..

If lucky enough to find out before the wedding day, the couple is forced to find an Officiator at the last minute – they are stuck with who is available, and that is exactly who shows up. Someone who doesn’t know the bride and groom, and is just as “fake” a Wedding Officiator as the one who dropped them in the first place. It only gets worse from there!

                                Scenario 2
               Wedding Officiator Brokerage

The Wedding Officiator sent someone else to preside the marriage ceremony – Why? -The couple’s selected Wedding Officiator was only “perceived” to be that. In fact, the Officiator may was running a “Wedding Officiator Brokerage”. In short, they book the weddings, don’t perform those which provide a lesser financial gain, and farm the rest out for a rather large commission.

Consequently.....

The one who shows up is a disaster, getting the groom’s or bride’s name wrong. They forget to include something that the couple wanted in the ceremony wording. Perhaps, doesn’t even preside the ceremony wording that the couple was expecting. It can get worse from there!

Scenario 3

The Las Vegas Drive-Through Wedding Officiant

The Wedding Officiator does not provide a contract, talking only by phone with the couple, and does not write the wedding ceremony wording with them. Even if meeting with the couple, it is a quick interview, but the price is right! Not much work is really required for a brief wedding ceremony? Right?

It is not uncommon for “fake” or Internet Ordained Wedding Officiators to work on “volume”. Promising a 15 minute or so marriage ceremony, but actually presiding a careless 3 – 8 minute version- A sort of marriage ceremony on “Speed”!

Consequently.....

Upon wedding day arrival, the Wedding Officiator will most probably be late, possibly disheveled due to rushing about, not certain as to the bride’s or groom’s name, and in a big hurry to get to the next wedding. In short, sloppy all around service! He/She may even give the Marriage License to the Event Planner or a parent of the bride or groom, telling them to file the same (It is actually the Officiator’s legal responsibility to file the license with the State of California). You see, these types of Marriage Officiants operate on “volume”. They are actually scheduling a wedding every ½ to an hour, and always running behind. They charge less and provide a flawed and inattentive service to the bride and groom – Perhaps performing as many as 8 – 10 events per wedding day! Sheer craziness!

A Southern California Wedding Officiator Is A Bride’s Best Friend Or Her Worst Nightmare!

January 11th 2011 – Selecting a person to preside/officiate your wedding ceremony is not as easy as some might believe! For the bride and groom, a part from the obvious, that of liking the person who may become their Wedding Officiator*, there are important selection tips to be considered. I almost hate to call them “tips”, as their mandatory understanding and application are essential! Making an informed decision during the selection process avoids the “buyers remorse” an uninformed choice facilitates, and that will painfully follow long after the wedding day.

First things first, for a number of reasons, including the economy, people are putting up their “Wedding Officiator Shingle”. Through the Internet, there are those “purchasing” the academically earned titles which are awarded to degreed Officiators. A bride and groom might say, “So, as long as they get me legally married!” This thinking is regrettable and a big mistake for the bride and groom….. So, we shall provide a series of reasons, over the next weeks, as to “why” an educated Officiator selection preserves a couple’s sanity and future joyful Wedding Day memories. If you want the competent, talented, reliable, and compatible Wedding Officiator you deserve, then follow this blog and our “Selecting a Wedding Clergy or Wedding Officiator Series”.

                                                       Did You Know Questions

Did you know that a Wedding Officiator should have as much formal education as some types of Medical Doctors? As some types of Psychologists! As Lawyers! As College Professors!
It wasn’t all that long ago that a “Clergy” was as revered in society as any of the aforementioned professionals. To this day, a “real” Officiator is degreed and peer reviewed before even presiding their first marriage ceremony. I, myself, had one of my two Doctoral degrees before going “solo” on my first marriage ceremony celebration. So, a Wedding Officiator is a true professional, just like a Medical Doctor, Lawyer, Psychologist, or College Professor!

“Valuing” - Starting Tip - Number One

“How much for just a 15 minute ceremony?”

If you don’t already, then start valuing the role of the Wedding Officiator to your wedding day experience! There is a tendency to undervalue the importance of the marriage ceremony while planning the wedding day. When selecting a Marriage Officiator, don’t begin your thinking with “How much is this going to cost me?”…. Or, begin a conversation with an Officiator with “How much do you charge for a 15 minute ceremony?” These are sure fire questions which reflect a misunderstanding of the value of the Wedding Officiator.

A Bride & Groom Can Start Their Southern California Wedding Officiant Research With Understanding

Here goes…… the Wedding Officiator should be an expert public speaker, writer, educator, organizer, technician, and more., relative to “all things official” and to “all things marriage ceremony”. If a bride and groom see their Officiator as anything less than this, or expect anything less than this, then they are undervaluing the importance of the role of the Wedding Clergy or Officiator. This puts the couple in dangerous waters! With understanding of the Wedding Officiators “job description” and related skills, a bride and groom can make a more informed decision on who is addressing their family and friends on the wedding day. Remember, the Officiator is given “carte blanche” on a wedding day – As a bride or groom, don’t give power to just anyone – Value the role of “Officiator”, and your selves by taking time to find out if your prospective Wedding Officiator deserves your respect. Do they respect their profession through investment? Did they put in the time? Did they put in the money to learn? Did they earn the degrees? Is this their full time chosen profession? The Clergy Network- A Southern California Wedding Officiator Saves Bride From Fire !

January 8th 2011 - Being A Wedding Officiator is Dangerous - A Clergy Network wedding officiator and clergy, must be very aware of his/her surroundings during the presiding of the marriage ceremony. As officiators, we have provided many "saves". Real wedding officiators, not "fake" Internet clergy, are trained to be the "master of many things" to a marriage ceremony.

Recently, our Clergy Network marriage minister noted a Unity Candle about to catch the brides veil on fire! Along with all the things he was doing at that moment (to preside the custom written marriage ceremony), he averted a potential tragedy! Moving the bride from harms way, when no one else noticed the danger, makes him a sort of wedding officiator hero! Congratulations to our observant Clergy Network wedding officiator for saving the bride from igniting!

The Dangers of Being A Wedding Officiator In Southern California!

January 7th 2010 - Being a "real" wedding officiator is dangerous - Standing on the very edge of cliffs! Being engulfed by rising tides! Taking the wedding rings from the mouth of a police dog! Breaking the fall of a 6 foot groom as he collides into your slight wedding officiator body! In any event the wedding ceremony must go on, no matter what! The Clergy Network has a lot of stories to tell about 21 years of the amazing, the crazy, the sweet and the terrible. So, over the next year, we shall share some of our stories with you, the old and the new for 2011.

The Clergy Network is the only "real" background checked, professional and degreed wedding officiator membership in Southern California. Most wedding officiators are "fakes" in Southern California, getting their authority to preside a marriage ceremony over the Internet, with no training or background check or experience or peer review. Especially, the last few years, this phenomena is spreading like wildfire! Select The Clergy Network wedding officiator for your custom written wedding ceremony, wedding day marriage license issuance, wedding officiator "backup" protection, bride name change software and more!
